Online Graphic Novel Club: Stray Dogs (Wednesday, October 07, 2026)

Thu, 08 Oct 2026 02:30:00 GMT

We have moved to a members-only format. Not yet a member? It's easy to join!

Our Graphic Novel Club meets monthly to explore a new trade paperback together, share our thoughts, and enjoy some good old-fashioned geeky book discussion. No need to be an expert, just bring your love of comics (and perhaps dogs this month) and an opinion or two.

This month’s selection is Stray Dogs by Tony Fleecs and Trish Forstner, Volumes 1–5. Read along with us and then join the conversation!

New members are always welcome, so come check out the club and meet some fellow readers.

It's scary being the new dog.

In this suspenseful new series, readers meet Sophie, a dog who can't remember what happened. She doesn't know how she ended up in this house. She doesn't recognize any of these other dogs. She knows something terrible happened but she just... can't... recall... Wait! Where's her lady? It's all coming back to her now, and it's enough to raise Sophie's hackles. Now Sophie has to figure out where she is, what's happening and how she's going to survive this.

They say there's no such thing as a bad dog, just bad owners.

Sun, 18 Oct 2026 23:30:00 GMT

Calling all true crime junkies and board game fans! Come hang out with us for Murder We Wrote, a true-crime-podcast-inspired game where every murder comes with a story, a suspect, and plenty of room for some very questionable theories.

We’ll make up our own versions of what happened, share our “witness” stories, and see whose murder theory wins the round. Basically, it’s true crime podcast meets improv meets board game, with a lot of room for ridiculousness.

SCV WITCHES WALK IS BACK!
Saturday, October 24, 2026

Dust off those hats, grab your broomsticks and gather your coven — SCV Witches Walk is back for 2026!

Last year we made some magic together, and this year the cauldron is bubbling again as we bring our community together for another day of witchy fun, laughter, local businesses, a little mischief and plenty of magic.

Same witches. More magic. Stronger together.

MORE THAN JUST A BAR CRAWL

While some of our participating locations may include restaurants, breweries and watering holes, the heart of SCV Witches Walk is bringing our community together and supporting our local businesses.

Come dressed in your witchy best, shop local, grab a bite, visit participating establishments, enjoy the festivities and help us show some love to the businesses that make our community special.

Whether you drink or don’t drink, there’s a place for you in the coven.

Shop local. Eat local. Support local. Make some magic.

Expect fabulous witchy costumes, decorated hats, broomsticks, food, shopping, photo opportunities and maybe just a little magical mischief along the way.

This year we will once again be supporting Circle of Hope, an organization that means so much to our Santa Clarita community.

The cauldron is still bubbling behind the scenes while we work with our participating businesses and put together all those magical little details.

Official times, participating locations, route information and more will be announced as everything is confirmed.

Witches, magical folk & witchy friends welcome
Costumes encouraged
Join us for all or part of the Walk
Shop, eat & support local
Be kind, have fun & bring your good magic

Invite your coven. Share the event. Find that hat and dust off that broom.

Santa Clarita… the witches are coming.

When a halfling, Pansy, and a goblin, Ren, each think they've inherited the same cottage, they make a bargain: they'll live in the house together and whoever is driven out first forfeits their ownership.

Amidst forced proximity and cultural misunderstandings, the two begin to fall in love.

But when the cottage—and their communities—are threatened by a common enemy, the duo must learn to trust each other, and convince goblins and halflings to band together to oust a tall intruder.
